P-51 landing gone embarrassingly wrong. You can hear the prop strike quite clearly.

The only thing worse than making a bad landing is making a bad landing while being watched. And taped. And commented on by a loud-mouth.

The s-word is mentioned a couple of times in this clip, but it's pretty appropriate.

No big deal she says? I heard a prop overhaul on a P-51 is around $50k. To me, that is a 'big deal', not to mention what it costs to tear down a Merlin. Shoot Bob for having a stupid wife.

oh dear lord, that lady is not somebody I ever want to see in charge of anything remotely related to somebody's safety.

Did the pilot walk away from it? If yes, it was a good landing! Admittedly, a somewhat expensive landing, but a good one! A Spitfire or Hurricane... now that would be different!!
Oh, and someone please apply "extra hold" duct-tape to the lady... thanks;-)

Gosh that's a lot of very heavy language about the woman who held the camera and made what were probably nervous and then relieved comments. They may sound silly but remember she was watching her husband make a really scary landng. After all she is not the issue at all. The pilot and his landing are the subject. Why does she get so much heat? Ease up guys.

Silly, silly woman.

At least this dude walked away. Same basic problem lead to a fatality in another one of these birds the other day.

I agree with John.. She doesn't seem to have any clue how much money that just cost, on an aircraft that's probably extremely precious to him, and look how she's carrying on! I just wish I could reach in through the computer screen and slap her!

anonymous: that didn't sound like nervous laughter to me, it sounded to me like she thought the crash was hilarious.
