50 years ago, this was an ad for Pan Am's Boeing 707 jet service. This ad features rare footage of the -121 "short tail" series, and the original Pratt and Whitney JT3C straight turbojet engines.
It sure looks like a glamorous ride...
Things have changed somewhat since then.
I'm up early tomorrow - I'll post some night flying pics when we land at our destination tomorrow morning.

Nice headset...
The food looks toxic and the smoking in the cabin does too.
Funny, I don't recall "living room quiet" applying to the 707. I suppose that was in comparison with the Constellation or whatever it replaced.
And someone actually composed symphonic music, and a whole orchestra was used to record it... For a simple advertisement...
What an era!
... The travail has been taken out of travel ...
But we've been working to get it back ever since.
Table linens, silverware, china, multi-course meals, coffee poured from a pot, pillows, blankets...
It's like flying on Wardair....
The main thing I noticed about the aircraft interior was the lack of overhead bins. What luxury!
